The EuroMed University of Fez in consortium with the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies Fès-Taza, the company Alten Delivery Center Morocco and the Regional Council of Fès-Meknès, is developing a project for an innovative sustainable industrial zone oriented "industry 4.0" called "Fez Smart Factory" on the University website. "Fez Smart Factory" is dedicated to smart and sustainable factories. This area will also include an accelerator of Industry 4.0-oriented startups as well as a model 4.0 factory. This project meets the needs to improve the competitiveness of the Moroccan industrial fabric by developing access to industrial land, by strengthening the links between the University and the company and by promoting the development of Research & Development activities. This project was selected by the Fund for Sustainable Industrial Zones (FONZID) following a call for competition jointly launched by the Millennium Challenge Account Morocco / the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the Ministry of Industry, Investment, of Trade and the Green and Digital Economy, and a subsidy agreement was signed in May 2020. In line with the requirements of MCA-Morocco / MCC, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) according to the standards of the International Finance Corporation is being carried out by the Phenixa office. As part of the process of carrying out this ESIA, we invite you to participate in a public consultation meeting on July 23, 2020 at 10:00 am which will allow you to present the progress of the project and collect your opinions and observations for integrate them into the ESIA.
