Spain-Morocco, bridges and cultural discourses: subject of the International Congress organised at the UEMF

Congresses and colloquia

The Euromed University of Fez, which has been working since its creation to promote diversity and encourage intercultural dialogue, is organising an international congress on 18 and 19 May 2022 that will bring together Spain and Morocco through the contributions and papers of Moroccan and Spanish speakers who will deal with the subject from different angles, such as politics and thought, art and architecture, literature and narratives, trade and industry.

The aim is to build cultural bridges between the two countries, to remember the historical memory that we share, as well as the historical and cultural elements that we have in common and that we must preserve in order to make a new model of coexistence possible and to preserve friendship, good neighbourliness and cooperation between the two kingdoms.

The Spain-Morocco International Conference on Bridges and Cultural Discourses is co-organised with the Spanish Embassy in Rabat and was attended by the Cultural Counsellor, Mr Borja Morate, and the President of the Cervantes Institute in Fez, Mr Miguel Ángel Sanjosé, to mark this new and unprecedented stage in Spanish-Moroccan diplomatic relations and to give a new dimension to this historically rooted union.

This congress is aimed at a wide audience: Spanish speakers, Arabic speakers, Islamic scholars, researchers in various fields of social sciences, anthropologists, sociologists, university professors, doctoral students and diplomats.
