The Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Camp (EMIC) held its semi-final elimination phase today, with 4 young ‘innovators’ now having reached the final of the competition!

For the last two months, 6 shortlisted candidates were hosted either in the workshop facility at the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) and the Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia, or the EuroMed University of Fes (UEMF) in Morocco, where they received technical assistance and mentorship from subject matter experts, experienced engineers, product developers and designers, and innovation experts. Today, on the EMUNI premises, those candidates who were unable to present a functional prototype or validate their future products are required in the market, were eliminated by a jury of 3 members.

The 4 finalists are: Georgios Paliouras (Greece), specialising in Renewable Energy, and Jihene Nouairi (Tunisia), Laila Mahmoud (Egypt) and Patricija Ham (Slovenia), specialising in Environment and Climate Change.

They will appear on 8 June in the EMIC Finale at the 15th Anniversary celebration of EMUNI in front of a live audience to present their prototypes. The event will be live streamed at: and you can vote!
